Ryuzaki stood just right outside of lights classroom. Watching him closely and making notes of the way light kept looking out at him. He enjoyed making the other feel uncomfortable. He smirked as he turned away from lights sight.
Light's cheeks warmed as he noticed the other taking notes. When Ryuzaki turned away, Light leaned forward and just stared at him, unblinking.
Ryuzaki bit his thumb and waited for him under the cherry blossom. The saw was slightly warm so sat under it. He was in hoping lights class would be over soon. He was having trouble thinking about anything else for hours. Which bothered him because he had not felt this way since A.
Light continued to stare at Ryuzaki until the end of class, half zoning out. When class ended, he walked calmly down the stairs. Making eye contact with him, he said, "Can I help you, Ryuzaki?"
"Just checking in." He replied hugging his knees as he looked up at him. "Haven't seen you in a while. Kira's stopped killing... For the time being. So no new leads." He added standing up to great him. He had a couple of flowers in his hair from the tree.
Light gave a small smile. He had indeed stopped using his notebook; somehow he had been distracted these days.
"What, are you so bored you had to come here and stare at me?" he asked, tilting Ryuzaki's chin up. "You've got something in your hair. Here, let me...." He plucked some of the sakura blossoms from the brunet's hair and showed them to him.
"I must say it's... Been lonely without your help." He replied running his hand into his hair to remove any more flowers. "Your... Classes seam just as boring." He added trying not to look like he was over thinking and analysing everything about the other. "Would you like to show me your collage? I have only seen the tennis court."
Light's eyebrows rose. "Sure," he said. "Maybe you can audit some of my classes. Where would you like to go first?"
"well your classes are... A quit too easy for me. It would be a waste of time. I wonder why you even attend such schooling when you could be far more useful to the world." He replied before plopping a round lollypop into his mouth. "Your class will be fine first. I would like to see what you see in such tedious work." He added pulling out his treat by the end, first so his talking would not be muffled.
"I attend school because it's what is expected of me. You know that, Ryuzaki." Light nonetheless smiled as he led the other to his next class. "You may find it tedious, but I enjoy the accolades from being top of the class."
"so your pride and the pride of your peers are what you value more. Would not working for me be better of an accomplishment then this?" He asked sticking in his hands in his pocket as they walk. He looked out the window down at the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. "Though I can't complain with the view."
"Who says I can't do both?" Light asked, raising an eyebrow at the other boy.
"I would ask for a lot of your time. Maybe after finish we can return to the subject. They're also better schools that you could have gone to why did you choose this one? Conveniency?" He questioned him.
Light didn't have an answer to that, so he just shrugged. "Maybe they just got the short straw," he teased. "How about you? Why this school?"
"well to be honest... You." He said bluntly. "Tho I really don’t need school. I already finished the whammy house courses. Which are highly effective in turning out honour students. "I graduated at 12. Youngest in history."
Light stopped in his tracks and stared at Ryuzaki. "You... graduated school at age 12?" he repeated. "And you-- you're coming to school for me? Why would you waste your time like that?" He didn't intend to sound cold or unkind, but he couldn't help being blunt from time to time.
"You intrigued me." He stated looking into one of the empty class rooms and went in without light. "According to others your just as smart as me and you are holding back your potential by staying in this school. So… I wanted to see what holds you here. Could it be someone you choose not to leave behind? Your sister perhaps?" He asked waiting for Light to fallow him.
Light huffed and strode to catch up with Ryuzaki. "Don't psychoanalyze me," he muttered. "What would you have me do? Drop out of live classes and finish via correspondence in a month?" To be honest, he enjoyed the accolades he got from classmates and teachers, but his pride was also a little wounded that Ryuzaki had apparently outdone him!
"well I suppose you’re right. You do have things that even I'm not capable of having." He sighed and looked out the window. He stared out the window looking out at the trees. "Your social skills are one of your advantages that I’m not blest with."
"You suppose I'm right?" Light repeated with a laugh. He ruffled Ryuzaki's hair. "Well, it was expected of me to learn to socialize, you might say. It's not anything special."
L blushed slightly when whin his hair was touched. "Your... Special to me." He replied softly trying to hide the look on his face. "after all... Your my first friend."
"That is bleak," Light said. "But I'm flattered. I think." He grinned. "Listen, do you want to do something fun after class?" he asked as they approached his next classroom. "Why don't we go to the arcade or something?"
"Do you see me as a friend light? " He asked with a smile in return. "I would love that. But I was hoping to spend more time with you out of other eyes. I'm not much for people person after all." He replied looking away a bit shyly so light would not see his reded face.
"You're my classmate and I respect your intelligence," Light said. "I know you're not much of a people person. No offense, but it's clear.... Where do you want to go, then?"
"you did not answer, I assume friendship is stronger than a mere classmate." He sighed turning to him. "Here is fine for now. We are alone." He answered running his hand over Lights desk. "You have a good view from the window."
"What if I said I'm friends with all my classmates?" Light countered. "And yes, I consider you a friend, Ryuzaki. And yes, I do have a good view. After all... I can see you from down there," he added quietly with a wink.
"then I would say your very well liked." He smiled slightly and sat on lights desk. "I would believe you. Your well likeable. I suppose that's why I feel... Unhappy when others have your attention."
"Do you get jealous?" Light asked. He tried not to smirk, as he really was curious and didn't want to seem like some smug jerk. "Well, they're pretty average. You're not. There's no need to be jealous if that's the case."
